They are found on the cooking chart that comes with the unit. It shows how many more minutes per lb to cook a variety of foods.

I usually never tell peolpe there is fish sauce in the stuff before they try it because most likely they will say they don’t like it just because it is in their mind, just psychological I guess. Anyway I use MAESRI brand egg roll dip. You can use the dip right out of the bottle, it’s pre-made with shredded carrots. Your husband will probably like it, but it is a little to sweet/heavy for my taste. Most of the families I know including mine, will use the dip as a base and add the ingredients you mentioned such as crushed red pepper, more carrots, fish sauce ,sugar, water, lime(we use lime instead of vinegar, but it is your choice) and crushed peanuts. If you can’t get a hold of egg roll sauce and stores near you don’t sell it, you can make your own by putting sugar in a pot and turning the heat on low. You will have to constantly mix slowly until it turns reddish/brownish dark color and liquidy. Whatever you do, do not taste the sugar when it’s hot! I almost did when my mom was showing me how to make it, and my mom yelled at me. I guess it didn’t click that hot sugar can burn really bad, and worst, it sticks. When the sugar has turned a red/brown color and liquid, you can add the rest of the ingredients and mix together.MAESRI products are from Thailand. The following ingredients in the MAESRI brand egg roll dip are: Sugar 42%, Water 40%, Distilled Vinegar 6.8%, Turnip 3%, Carrot 3%, Salt 3%, Fresh red chilies 2%, Thickener (E 415) 0.2%

I’m enjoying my oven adn trying out different things. I have a list of questions I hope you can help me with.

    1. Will convection oven recipes work in this Oven? Not alot of recipe books out there for this oven, but heard that a convection oven cookbook will work without adjustments for time and temp. Is this correct?

    2. When cooking chicken breasts, is there a reason for them being on the high rack vs the low rack? I usually cook them from frozen and want to have a more thoroughly cooked chicken breast. If there is a difference or reason why top over bottom, please explain.

    3. Are the recipes times on the recipes here for thawed or frozen meat?

    Thanks for your help!

    Glenn, Dallas TX

    • sinthujha June 7, 2012 at 2:10 pm #

Hi Glenn, thanks for your comment.

      1. Most convection oven recipes do work in the oven but the oven may have more power and it may take less time. So you you will have to adjust cooking time accordingly.
      2. When cooking chicken breasts the chicken should be on the high rack because it cooks more evenly, if you cook them from frozen then you will still place them on the higher rack but you will have to check the chicken before flipping it over.
      3. The recipe times are for thawed meat, if you use frozen meat you may have to adjust the time accordingly.

I have the Flavorwave oven now for a few months and is/was absolutely thrilled with it. However I notice recently that the wire shelves seem to be made from a poor quality metal (it’s definitely not stainless steel – what you would have expected from a product like this!!) as mine are beginning to rust and affect and colour the food when I leave it in the pot to cool down.
Is there stainless steel ones available to buy?
